Whether it was 1994 or 1988 or 2003 hardly matters; some of the women suing him now were teenagers in his office earlier than any of those, and California's cover-up window is open through the end of 2027.
You went back to him. Most of his patients did, for years, and that is exactly what makes it hard to name. Going back is not consent to anything.
You told another doctor at Cedars and were told it would be handled. That sentence is in a filed complaint. It is the case.

We didn't write what's below. The Medical Board of California did, and the courts, and the reporters who covered them, and we link to every one of them. Brock has denied the allegations through his lawyer, has never been charged with a crime, and his license surrender was not an admission. Nothing here says otherwise.

September 2024

Cedars-Sinai ended Brock's privileges after patient complaints. He had been on staff there for more than forty years. Beverly Press.

October 1, 2024

Thirty-five former patients filed the first lawsuits in Los Angeles, against Brock and against Cedars-Sinai. The complaints say the hospital knew for decades. Filing announcement.

December 30, 2024

June 2025

The Medical Board had filed an accusation over one patient's care in 2018, and rather than fight it Brock, then 75, handed in his California license. Not an admission, his lawyer told the Los Angeles Times. He just wasn't going to contest it. Los Angeles Times.

October 2025

One hundred twelve more women filed, taking the count past 330. Some of the new complaints describe rape. Cedars-Sinai's statement: the behavior alleged is counter to its core values. Beverly Press.

February 2026

The count passes 500. The newest complaint is less about Brock than about Cedars-Sinai, and what it did after women reported him. One of them says another Cedars physician told her, "I will take care of this." Lawyer Herald.

Who answers for what Dr. Brock is accused of

Brock is a defendant, but he is 75 and has no license, and no plaintiff is counting on him. Every one of the 500-plus cases also names Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and two of his practices, Beverly Hills OB/GYN and the Rodeo Drive Women's Health Center. The theory is the one that has already cost UCLA and USC more than a billion dollars between them in their own gynecologist cases: the institution heard the complaints, had the power to stop him, and kept him on the schedule. Cedars-Sinai is a private nonprofit with an Aa3 credit rating. That matters, because California's new law is aimed squarely at private institutions that covered for a doctor, and a lawyer will explain what that means for you.

Your deadline: California's statute of limitations, and the cover-up window that closes at the end of 2027

Two dates, and they point in different directions, so don't let a search summary hand you one. The near one: anything from 2009 onward got a second chance when California reopened the deadline in 2023 under Code of Civil Procedure 340.16, and that second chance runs out on the last day of 2026. Not far off. Visits in that range, no case filed yet? That's under four months from the day we wrote this.

Then a second door, and this one is already open. A 2025 law called AB 250 gave two years, from the first day of 2026 to the last day of 2027, to anyone with a claim that a private institution covered up the abuse; the year it happened doesn't matter. That is the window the Brock cases were built for, and it is why we're collecting names now instead of next winter.

Adults abused after 2019 also have the ordinary rule: ten years from the act, or three from when you connected it to the harm. Minors have longer still. Every one of these turns on your dates, and a lawyer sorts it in one call. The only mistake is assuming it's too late.

Who is Dr. Barry Brock?

Four decades of Beverly Hills OB-GYN practice, Cedars-Sinai privileges the whole way through, the doctor a lot of women's mothers had recommended. Cedars cut him off in September 2024. The next year he gave up his medical license rather than fight a Medical Board accusation, and by early 2026 more than 500 of his former patients had sued him and the hospital.

Has Dr. Brock been arrested or charged?

Not as of this writing. The cases are civil. A newspaper reported in late 2025 that a criminal investigation was ongoing, without saying which agency. We update this page within three days of anything new.

My visits were decades ago. Does that end it?

Not necessarily. AB 250 opened a window, January 2026 through December 2027, for claims that a hospital covered up abuse, whatever year the abuse happened. Whether your facts fit is a lawyer's call; the point is to have that conversation this year, not in the last month of next.

How much does a sexual abuse lawyer cost?

Here, nothing. Every case is on contingency. The lawyer is paid only out of what is recovered, and if nothing is recovered you owe nothing. Not for the call, not for the review, not for the case.

Is it too late to join the Brock lawsuits?

No. These are individual cases, not a class you have to opt into by a date. New groups of plaintiffs have been filing every few months since October 2024, and the cover-up window that runs through 2027 is designed for people who haven't filed yet.
